Around 16,000 people have so far applied for the Covid-19 Pandemic Unemployment Payment, according to an article published by RTE.
The special payment, which amounts to €203 a week for a maximum of six weeks, is designed to ‘help’ people who have been laid off work due to the coronavirus outbreak.
