Coronavirus: Summer gigs by Westlife, Guns’n’Roses, and Kings of Leon cancelled as Government will not issue licences for events where more than 5,000 people will attend

A number of high-profile summer gigs by bands such as Westlife, Guns’n’Roses, and Kings of Leon have been canceled, as the Government will not issue licences for events where more than 5,000 people will attend.

GAA championship games and the Galway Races are also among the events that will not go ahead this summer due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The virus is forecast to exact a heavy toll on the Irish economy, with some analysts predicting an unemployment rate of up to 22%.
