Coronavirus: Summer scoops highly unlikely with Irish vintners association saying some pubs ‘might never reopen’, if reopening is conditional to a coronavirus vaccine being found

Who doesn’t love going out during the summer? Well it appears as though we may be having a few sociables in the comfort of our home instead of pubs in summer 2020.

Representatives for the Irish vintners association have today addressed some of the comments made by Minister for Health Simon Harris, regarding the reopening of pubs.

The minister said that he does not foresee allowing pubs to reopen until an effective vaccine for Covid-19 is found and made available at large scale.

The association said that if that’s the case ‘many pubs will never reopen,’ as the establishments will by then be long out of business.

Around 50,000 people working on the pub trade have been temporarily laid off.
