The HSE announced on Saturday evening that there was 548 new confirmed cases of coronavirus in the Republic of Ireland with another 41 people dying. They also confirmed some 284 cases returned positive from Germany.
It brings the total in the Republic of Ireland to 11,479 cases and 406 deaths with the government expecting a 30% increase daily from this week.
There’s 57% of men with coronavirus and 43% of women with the average age being 48.
Meanwhile in the north, there were 85 new confirmed cases today bringing the total in Northern Ireland to 1,967 with the total number of deaths there now standing at 134.
It means that as of Wednesday morning, there’s a total of 540 deaths from coronavirus.
