Two cats have tested positive for Covid-19 in New York, health authorities have confirmed.
The felines are the first known cases of household pets infected with the disease in the United States.
Doctors say that while some animals appear to be susceptible to the virus and develop mild symptoms, there is no evidence yet that pets can transmit the disease to human beings.
