Coronavirus was in Ireland weeks before Varadkar or Harris locked down the country, now figures reveal

Weeks before Leo Varadkar implemented even a partial lockdown and weeks before Simon Harris held any related press conference, coronavirus was in Ireland.

According to Virgin Media News, Covid-19 was in hospitals two weeks before it was officially announced on February 29th. The first official case was that of a male student in Dublin.

However, Virgin Media reveals that 4 patients were being treated in ICU throughout February, all who had coronavirus. They were admitted on the dates of February 17th, 18th, 25th and 28th.

It means that the government could have potentially halted the spread even sooner had they acted faster, closed the borders and not allowed so many Italians in for a rugby match that had been called off – along with the thousands travelling to Cheltenham.

No doubt more of these revelations will appear as the weeks go on.
