An innovative British couple managed to circumvent Covid-19 restrictions by having 50 guests at their wedding – as cardboard cutouts.
According to the Mirror, the Guildford couple had originally planned to have 100 guests at their wedding. However, due to the UK’s laws banning wedding gatherings of more than 30 people, they were forced to think outside the box.
The bride and groom decided to spend over £2000 getting 50 full size cardboard cutouts of their friends and family. The lively, if lifeless, guests were arranged in crowd form at the reception and even posed for snaps with the clever couple.
With restrictions stopping many from having their dream day, perhaps more couples will resort to similar tactics. It definitely saved them a fortune on the bar tab…
