The Covid-19 advisory group say restrictions will be lifted slowly and in a controlled manner.
Speaking on RTÉ Radio One, Dr Cillian De Gascun said everything won’t go back to normal instantly but gradually.
Dr Dé Gascun said that some but not all non-essential workers will be able to return to work.
He also said that if some places were to open they would be monitored over a two to four week period to see what impact the lifting of restrictions would have.
