Infections caused by the Indian coronavirus variant keep rising at an alarming rate in the UK.
There have now been 3,424 confirmed cases involving this particular strain.
The previous week, there had only been 1,313 known cases.
This strain appears much more transmissible, but it does not appear to be any more lethal than other variants.
