Bars, pubs, and restaurants that cannot serve outside will be shut from midnight tonight.
The measure is part of the ‘enhanced’ Level 3 restrictions, which include no indoor dining.
Bizarrely, the Government has rejected National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET)’s advice to move the country to Level 5 lockdown, the only measure that might have had any chance of success in curbing Ireland’s increasingly dire Covid-19 situation.
A total of 1,810 people have died from Covid-19-related causes in Ireland so far.
