A British scientist is warning that the new viral strain is ‘worst news about the pandemic so far.’
Professor Andrew Hayward, who is part of the British Government’s New and Emerging Virus Threats Advisory Group (NERVTAG), is advising deep concern about the virus’ transmission capabilities, thought to be about 70% higher than previous strains.
Many European countries, including Ireland, have now banned passenger travel from Britain in the wake of the worsening pandemic.
