British supermarket chain Sainsbury’s is today warning of food shortages ‘within days’, as border closures across Europe affect the supply chain.
A number of European countries are restricting or banning the movement of freight between Britain and the mainland, which is likely to lead to some foodstuffs running low or out altogether.
Among the products listed are lettuce, some salad leaves, cauliflowers, broccoli, citrus, and other fruits.
