Covid-19-related infections and deaths are on the rise again in Europe, with Russia, Ukraine and Romania registering the highest deaths on the continent, according to an AFP tally.
Last week, about 1,672,000 new cases were recorded on the continent, an average of about 239,000 per day.
According to AFP data, collected from official sources in 52 countries and territories in the region, this represents an increase of 18% compared to the previous week.
The increase in cases was a 60% increase from August and September, when about 150,000 new cases were recorded per day, the data showed.
