Covid-19: Chief Medical Officer warns that coronavirus-related mortality is likely to remain ‘high’ for the rest of January

Ireland’s Chief Medical Officer Dr. Tony Holohan has warned that coronavirus-related mortality is likely to remain ‘high’ for the rest of January.

According to Dr. Holohan, we’re likely to see anything between 500-1,000 deaths this month alone.

He again highlighted the ongoing strain in the Irish hospital system because of the high and constant influx of Covid-19 patients.
