Cork University Hospital is today advising people to go to its A&E department ‘only if absolutely necessary’, as the facility struggles with overcrowding.

It is understood that the hospital is seeing a surge in coronavirus patients.

According to Trolley Watch, a shocking 403 people are waiting for a bed at the hospital today.
