It appears as though covid is going to stick around for sometime, at least according to the Tanaiste Leo Varadkar.
The Fine Gael leader and soon-to-be Taoiseach again said that there is concern in relation to the rise in covid cases but that things are still well under control.
What we currently anticipate is that covid is going to be with us for eternity. There will be future variants, there will be future waves, but because we’ve got to a point where we have a highly vaccinated population and we have treatments but we should be able to live with it like we do the flu and other viruses that have been with us for centuries.
The Tanaiste said that because of all this, there should be no reason for legal restrictions to be imposed on the Irish public again.
