
New restrictions imposed by the government are in full effect for the first week since Monday morning. They could go on for some time yet but gardai say that things are working well and people are adhering to the latest measures. They’ve thanked the public for their efforts during the Covid-19 outbreak.
In a tweet Garda Traffic said that they conducted over 1780 patrols and 800 checkpoints between 5pm on Saturday and 4pm on Sunday.
They added that there had been a very high rate of compliance in regards to latest restrictions.
Between 5pm on Sat and 4pm Sunday, Gardaí conducted approx. 1,780 patrols and over 800 checkpoints in relation to recent public health measures.
