Gardai are this afternoon warning people of a new coronavirus-related text scam currently doing the rounds in Ireland.
It is understood that the scam involves receiving a text message asking people to book an appointment for a Covid-19 test. The text contains a link that leads to a website asking people for personal information and payment for the ‘test.’
Gardai are advising people to ignore these unsolicited messages.
