Covid-19: Glynn we are seeing an improvement despite high case numbers




 

The Deputy Chief Medical Officer Dr Ronan Glynn has said that the country is continuing to make progress in the fight against Covid-19.

Dr Glynn said that despite the high number of cases we are seeing an improvement as we have reported less than 1,000 cases each day this week.

The Deputy Chief Medical Officer said our seven day average was 1,022 two weeks ago, to 862 last week, to 792 today.

He added that number of people being treated in hospital has fallen from 1,200 to 744 in the past two weeks.
