The public are being warned to wipe any canned and tetra packs in order to stop the spread of Covid-19.
In an announcement the Irish Global Health Network called on the public to be careful whilst shopping goods and to avoid touching their face after picking up goods.
The network also advises consumers to use contactless payments of they can and to use their non dominant hand whilst shopping.
It is understood the network issued the warning in the interest of safety.
The public are advised to wipe down products with a warm soapy water or a paper towel.
