Covid-19: HSE to begin offering booster shots to the over 50s from Thursday -up to 200,000 people failed to turn up for their booster appointment amidst thousands of infections among the ‘fully’ vaccinated

The Health Service Executive (HSE) is to begin offering booster shots to the over 50s from Thursday.

It is unclear how many people will fall for it this time, as up to 200,000 people failed to turn up for their booster appointment in recent days amidst thousands of infections among the ‘fully’ vaccinated.

The definition of ‘fully vaccinated’ keeps changing though. Now, only people with three shots in them will be considered ‘fully’ vaccinated, for now anyway. But does that mean that people with two shots only are among those demonized by the Taoiseach in recent days, when he mentioned that ‘unvaccinated’ individuals are putting undue strain on the crumbling health service? Will people with two shots only be now be shunned and derided by the Three Jabbers cohort? And if you die having taken just two shots, are you dying ‘unvaccinated’? And when the fourth jab comes around, will people with only three be said to be ‘unvaccinated,’ and excluded from society?

Covid-19 indeed works in mysterious ways.
