The country reported a whopping 346,786 new coronavirus cases on Saturday, local time.
The country is in the midst of a deadly new wave sparked by mutant strains. Hospitals are overwhelmed, and oxygen and medicines are in short supply or have run out altogether.
According to local authorities, the situation on the ground is ‘desperate.’
