Ireland’s Chief Medical Officer Dr. Tony Holohan has said that the country ‘cannot afford’ both Christmas and New Year as coronavirus cases likely to skyrocket.

Dr. Holohan is warning that daily cases might surpass 1,000 again if urgent measures aren’t taken now.

It is likely that Ireland will be plunged into lockdown once again shortly after Christmas Day.
