
Ireland’s mandatory quarantine system for people arriving from ‘high-risk’ countries will be in place from today.
The list includes 33 countries. Anyone arriving from any of these locations will be mandated to quarantine for 12 days at a hotel, at their own expense.
Some experts question the effectiveness of introducing this system now, over a year on from the start of the pandemic, and after thousands upon thousands of people have already entered Ireland over the past few months unchecked.
