The Department of Foreign Affairs have confirmed that Irish citizens now have until Saturday to return home.
In a statement released this evening the Department confirmed that the deadline has been extended given the number of people looking to get home.
It is understood that Aer Lingus and Ryanair are working with Spanish authorities to make more flights available.
