Irish health authorities have confirmed just under 1,700 new coronavirus infections over the past 24h.
Official figures say that there have been 1,688 new cases confirmed in that period of time.
Health authorities have also said that there are now 314 people in hospital with severe Covid-19-related illness. It is unclear how many of these were fully vaccinated.
Many people are now starting to wonder why there are so many new infections every day if the vaccination program is so ‘successful’ and the vaccines ‘work.’
