New rules coming into effect today mean that Irish residents traveling to anywhere in the EU will be legally required to quarantine for 14 days.
The move was deemed necessary as thousands of people are still passing through Dublin Airport on a daily basis.
Minister Eamon Ryan said earlier today that people caught traveling beyond the specified 5km will face harsher fines.
