Moderna is today signaling its desire to sell more of its only marketed product, as the company says that an omicron-specific booster might be needed soon.
Moderna’s one and only product in the market is the coronavirus vaccine, so the company needs a sustainable revenue model going forward, hence the statement.
Furthermore, and in a totally unwitting move, the company’s statement implies that current vaccines do not work against omicron, so all those who already got a booster achieved nothing. In other words, they were duped. In the meantime, unvaccinated people are walking around healthy and omicron-free.
The current dynamic of booster after booster is nothing but a ploy to keep selling vaccines, and it will continue ad infinitum as long as people allow it.
