Covid-19: New Bank Holiday proposed to boost tourism later in the year

An extra Bank Holiday might be introduced after the end of the pandemic to boost tourism, it has emerged today.

The proposal originated from Minister for Tourism, Brendan Griffin, who was speaking in the Dáil recently.

Covid-19 has laid waste to the tourism industry worldwide, but Mr. Griffin believes that an extra day off might provide some respite to workers in Ireland later in the year.
