Covid-19 payments might be cut to make them more ‘affordable,’ according to Minister for Finance

Minister for Finance Paschal Donoghue has said that the emergency Covid-19 payment might be cut to make it more ‘affordable.’

The payment, currently worth €350 a week, is being paid to almost 600,000 people.

On the other hand, Mr. Donoghue still considers monthly payments to Government ministers to be rather affordable, as he recently and quite vehemently insisted that these would not be cut under any circumstances.
