The National Public Emergency Team (NPHET) on Friday ordered Taoiseach appointee Micheal Martin to issue a new dictum curtailing people’s freedoms over Christmas.
The new orders, which were likely issued out of spite on NPHET’s part since no one listens to their misguided ideas anymore, suggest that nightclubs are to close -again-, people in restaurants cannot ‘mingle’ with other tables (which, bizarrely, implies the Government’s belief that a viral organism cannot move across empty space), and other capricious measures. All of this despite a supposedly ‘successful’ vaccination campaign where over 90% of the population is meant to be vaccinated, yet everyone must still produce negative tests to travel, isolate in quarantine, wear masks, socially distance, take booster after booster, etc.
In reality, no one will actually comply with any of this. Large anti-lockdown demonstrations are happening across the country today.
