The number of new coronavirus infections in the capital could double within two weeks, according to Professor Philip Nolan.
Mr. Nolan added that the current R number in Dublin is about 1.4, which is higher than the national average of 1.0.
European health agencies have urged Ireland to impose a full nationwide lockdown before it’s too late, but the Irish Government appears to have ignored the advice, likely precipitating a far worse Covid-19 situation for the country.
