Around 160 British tourists are facing a longer-than-planned stay inside a Tenerife hotel, following an outbreak of coronavirus there.
The H10 Costa Adeje Palace hotel was placed under quarantine on Monday last, after an Italian doctor staying there was diagnosed with the disease.
It is understood that Spanish police have been posted at all entry and exit points of the hotel after a family attempted to break out.
