The Department of Foreign Affairs issues a list of cities and towns that Irish citizens should not travel to





The Department of Foreign Affairs have issued a list of 11 cities and towns, mainly in northern Italy that Irish citizens should not travel to.

The list comes as fears grow that the coronavirus could rapidly spread unless containment is enacted swiftly across Europe.

The Department hasn’t issued any formal travel ban but has advised that Irish citizens do not travel to

Irish health experts expect that a case of the coronavirus will be confirmed in Ireland

The Italian government has isolated the towns of Codogno, Castiglione d’Adda, Casalpusterlengo, Fombio, Maleo, Somaglia, Bertonico, Terranova dei Passerini, Castelgerundo and San Fiorano and Vo’.

The Department of Foreign Affairs have advised that these areas are not on red alert and should be avoided at all costs if at all possible.
