Health authorities have scrambled to identify those people who might have been in contact with the second coronavirus-infected patient here in Ireland.

The HSE confirmed a second case of the infectious disease yesterday evening. The patient is believed to be a woman who recently travelled back here from northern Italy, one of the worst affected areas in Europe.

The coronavirus has infected over 90,000 people worldwide, with over 3,100 deaths so far.
