Covid-19: Pubs face grim prospect of remaining closed for the rest of the year




Publicans are today reeling from the prospect of having their establishments closed for the remainder of the year.

Level 5 restrictions will come into force at midnight tonight, and the plan is to exit to Level 3 in six weeks time, which would mean that pubs would still be closed.

Ireland is currently in the grip of a hard resurgence of the coronavirus, with record number of new infections every day.
