The reopening of schools in late August/September is in jeopardy in light of current health advice.
A post-primary teachers’ union has said that if social distancing remains in effect, classrooms might be half-empty, thus leading to an unworkable situation.
The current advice says that pupils from Third Class onwards must maintain a one-metre distance at all times, which will be problematic in terms of scheduling and attendance.
