Covid-19: Restaurant operators left ‘deflated’ following news that they won’t be allowed to open their premises on New Year’s Eve

Restaurant operators have reportedly been left ‘deflated,’ following news that they won’t be allowed to open their premises on New Year’s Eve.

It was previously thought that restaurants would be able to accommodate customers for a special end of year dinner, but the recent deterioration in the Covid-19 situation prompted the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET) to issue urgent guidelines.

Many restaurants now fear ‘going under’ due to the ongoing closures.
