Several Italian towns across the northern regions of Lombardy and Veneto have been put on lockdown, after the number of coronavirus cases there rose rapidly over the weekend.
It is understood that no fewer than 130 people have tested positive for the virus, and three people have already died from the disease.
Schools, cinemas, and public buildings have been closed, and even a number of events in the Venice Carnival have been cancelled.
Almost 2,500 people have died from the disease worldwide.
