Covid-19: Taoiseach says he doesn’t want to put pressure on parents to vaccinate their children

The Taoiseach Michael Martin has said that the Government doesn’t want to put pressure on parents when it comes to vaccinating their children.

Speaking following the announcment of the vaccine registration for 12 to 15 year olds, the Taoiseach said that parents will be given all the information that is available so they can make an informed decision about the vaccine.

Although Martin acknowledged that many parents will have concerns about the vaccine, he urged them to trust our health authorities.

The Taoiseach went on to say that he believes vaccines are the best weapon available to us when it comes to protecting ourselves from the virus and they are safe.

He added that he doesn’t want to put pressure on parents but he does think its an important step forward.
