There are widespread expressions of both disgust and support on social media for an incident in which Cork FM radio accompanied a troop of drag queens known as “Heels on Wheels”, as they performed an outdoor show in housing estates in the city.
Cork FM filmed as Lia B, Mia Gold and Laticia Le Sin filmed as the men dressed as scantly clad caricatures of women allegedly danced and gyrated like strippers in front of families including children outside their homes to celebrate “Pride Week” in Cork.
One video shared by the Irish Freedom Party on Facebook highlights the fact that children were present while a man in what appears to be fishnet tights and a thong dances wildly in front of them.
The trend of having men pretending to be female strippers perform in front of children or read to children at “Drag Queen Story Hour” sessions has become increasingly popular in recent years for some reason but critics have said these perverse events are child abuse.
