The recently appointed Taoiseach Micheal Martin has said that the Government ‘is actively considering’ the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET)’s recommendation to move to a nationwide Level 5 lockdown.
NPHET made the urgent recommendation following a meeting on Thursday evening, in a last-ditch attempt to curb the spread of Covid-19 across Ireland.
Mr. Martin said that the situation is ‘very serious.’
