Covid-19: The State is to make alternative arrangements so nurses do not share accommodation

Unfortunately health care workers have been on the firing line for some time now as they’re front line workers and have been subjected to contracting covid-19 from patients, but also from people they’re sharing accommodation with.

It’s highly common that young nurses in particular, who went to college together, are living in shared accommodation and could possibly spread covid-19 between each other.

A scenario where one nurse could be working in a hospital, another in a nursing home and another a community nurse could see coronavirus being widely spread if it broke out in their house.

So the national public health emergency team has recommended health care workers do not share accommodation and that the State help make alternative arrangements.
