The HSE announced on Thursday evening that there was 500 new confirmed cases of coronavirus in the Republic of Ireland with another 28 people dying.
It brings the total in the Republic of Ireland to 6,574 with the government expecting a 30% increase daily from this week.
There’s 57% of men with coronavirus and 43% of women with the average age being 48.
Meanwhile in the north, there were 138 new confirmed cases today bringing the total in Northern Ireland to 1,477 with the total number of deaths there now standing at 82.
It means that as of Thursday morning, there are now 8,051 confirmed cases across the island of Ireland.
