A top doctor is today warning that the Dublin area might see up to 5,000 cases a day in just weeks.
Professor Sam McConkey, an infectious diseases expert from the Royal College of Surgeons, further said that said “change is needed” if the spread of the virus is to be suppressed.
The dire prediction comes after a huge increase of coronavirus cases in the capital and surrounding areas. The formerly appointed Taoiseach Leo Varadkar referred to this situation as ‘worrying.’
