Tributes have been widely paid across social media since Friday evening after it emerged that a health care worker tragically lost their life from covid-19.
It’s understood that the health care worker contracted coronavirus while they were trying to treat a patient who already had covid-19.
In what is considered absolutely tragic, the hero died trying to help others – but more could also die from the same reason as it’s understood that 23% of all confirmed 2,121 coronavirus cases in the Republic of Ireland are health care workers themselves.
People have been saying how brave and selfish the poor health care worker was and that their thoughts and prayers are with their family.
