The UK is reportedly facing a second national lockdown as the coronavirus situation is likely to spiral out of control, unless people follow the rules.
New guidelines -the so-called ‘rule of six’- will be in effect from tomorrow, Monday, but recent scenes of mass gatherings of people trying to make the best out of the last days of ‘freedom’ have emerged. A huge spike in new coronavirus infections is likely to follow.
Speaking to Sky News, Peter Openshaw, a professor of experimental medicine at Imperial College London, has warned that the R number might have grown as high as 1.7, a potentially very dangerous situation.
