Covid-19: AstraZeneca resumes clinical trial of possible coronavirus vaccine following interruption due to ‘unexplained illness’ in a trial participant

AstraZeneca has resumed its clinical trial of a potential coronavirus vaccine, following an interruption due to a possible side effect.

The trial was paused after a patient developed an ‘unexplained illness.’ No details were revealed about the patient’s status or the nature of the illness.

The vaccine, even if successful in its trials, might not be available for the wider population until 2022 at the earliest.
