The UK has reported over 100 new cases of the Omicron coronavirus variant over the past 24h.
Official figures say that there currently are 568 confirmed cases of the new variant in the UK.
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson today announced a range of new measures to combat the spread of the variant across the country, including the introduction of Covid passports, mandatory face masks, and working from home where possible.
