Credit Woe: A number of Three mobile users complain they are losing credit despite not making any call or texts since topping up

A number of Three Ireland Pay as You Go customers have reported they have experienced mobile top up problems in the past number of weeks, with many claiming their balance has taken a hit despite not making any call or texts since topping up.

Some customers of the mobile network have complained that they have seen their balance being deducted by as much as €1 or €2 even though they have not sent any messages, whilst others have complained that their balance has significantly dropped even though they sent as little as one text message in just a few days.

One disgruntled mobile phone user named Bernadette told TheLiberal: ” I have no idea what is happening to my phone credit, I recently topped up by €10 and I found out my balance was less than €8 even though i sent a short message to my sister, at first i thought I might have mistakenly sent the massage a number of times and thought nothing of it.”

“After a while I topped up again by another €10 and found that the same thing happened again but twice immediately I knew something wasn’t quite right, i tried asking friends what had happened and did they experience they same problem with a few saying they did.” “Some friends did try to give a few explanations saying as to why I was losing credit, with a few saying I could be unknowingly using data whilst browsing the internet but I told them i didn’t use a smartphone but instead use a standard phone, they were puzzled and couldn’t offer any other explanation.”

A disheartened Bernadette also explained she tried ringing the mobile operator but she could not get through and is yet to find an answer as to what is going on.

Meanwhile a number of other Three mobile users have said they have experienced the same problem and have said they are puzzled as to why their credit balance is dropping.

Three Ireland have yet to respond to the claims and offer an explanation to the problem.
